Highlights of CPN 23rd Annual Conference and General Meeting

The 23rd CPN Annual Conference and General Meeting were successfully held at the Bangkok Shangri-La Hotel, Thailand from April 10th to April 14th, 2019. More than 110 delegates from member companies and several guests had the opportunity to gather for interact in business discussions, attend an educational workshop and other social activities. The Conference was co-hosted this year by Netherland Company, CargoGuide Int’l B.V.

In the context of the 23rd CPN Conference, new initiatives were announced. During the AGM the new Board of Directors Mr. Larry Andrew Agaba, Ms. Stella Chungeun Kim and Mr. Luiz Felipe Bermudez were introduced to the delegates.  

Plaques of Recognition of 15 years of Membership, La Lavantine “Daher & CIE” (Lebanon), Topwinner Transportation Ltd. (China) & 20 years of Membership, Aerolince Freight Int’l Ltd. (Portugal), Anand Freight Overseas Pvt. Ltd. (India) Groupair Freight Pvt. Ltd. (Zimbabwe), International Freight Consultants (s) Pte. Ltd. (Singapore) were presented with Plaques Awards.

Achievement Award Certificate of Best CPN Member of the 2019 in all areas of Business (Communications; Business Development; Payments; Competitive Pricing; Reliable & Efficient Service), was presented to Atlas International Freight Forwarding Inc. Canada. Other Achievement Awards Certificates were presented by region; In Asia & Oceana: Aaw Global Logistics Pty Ltd. (Australia), FM Global Logistics (Kul) Sdn. (Malaysia), Topwinner Transportation Ltd. (China), Fairate Express Ltd. (Hong Kong), In Europe: Atlantic Pacific Global Logistics (U.K.), Plaza Forwarding Sl (Spain), Samer & Co. Shipping SPA (Italy), Trans Continental Logistics (Belgium) and in Africa: First Global Logistics (Egypt), Phoenix Int’l Logistics (Pty) Ltd. (South Africa).

The venue for the Next Annual Conference and General Meeting was allocated to Cape Town, where the member company Phoenix International Logistics (Pty) Ltd. (South Africa) will act as Conference Host.

The workshop was conducted by Professor Thomas Sim, Chairman of FIATA advisory Body Vocational Training and Senior Advisor to the CPN Board of Directors. The goal of the workshop was to help members to understand the importance of dangerous good/ hazardous substance awareness; to know the different classification of dangerous good under the IMO-IMDG code & IATA DGR; be acquainted with the most important UN Regulations (Air, Sea, Road/Rail) for Dangerous Goods and to demonstrate its application in practice including use and completion of the necessary DG documentation. We intend to continue running these workshops at our conferences and will look to cover a wide range of topics.
