Training Institute

The CPN Training Institute has been created with the purpose of providing CPN members with up to date training on current topics related to the Logistic Industry.

In continuation of the CPN policy towards increasing membership value to its members, a Training Workshop on topics of relevance to the logistic industry was organized and held at the end of the 23rd CPN Conference in Bangkok, April 14th, 2019.

The professor for this workshop was CPN and FIATA Advisor and responsible for Training Activities, Thomas SIM.

Then initiative was received with great enthusiasm. Over 30 participants with different levels of seniority and experience in the industry attended the full-day program that included the following topics:

  • Role of the Parties in the Transport Chain
  • Regulations
  • Classification
  • Marking of Hazardous Cargo, Handling
  • Training Requirements
  • Documentation

Attendants received through these lectures conceptual and up-to-date information on Understanding the importance of dangerous goods/ hazardous substances awareness, know the different classification of dangerous goods under the IMO-IMDG code & IATA DGR; Be acquainted with the most important UN Regulations (Air, Sea, Road/Rail) for Dangerous Goods; Demonstrate its application in practice including use and completion of the necessary DG documentation.

Sharing their experiences after the conclusion of the training Workshop, over the 99% of the participants indicated that they found the topics very relevant to their business practice, that the content was very well organized and current and that the program fully fulfilled their expectations.

CPN intends to continue this series of the educational workshop as to include other topics of significant relevance to assist the member companies in increasing the quality and the profitability of their operations and to keep their standards up to the highest current level.
